Oxford Direct Services understands the business need for a cost effective and quality service that achieves environmental compliance and saves money. We have a well established commercial waste collection service and we introduced a recycling service in 2005 for local businesses, charities and universities/colleges.
With many years experience of serving the varied commercial outlets of Oxford, Oxford Direct Services is able to provide a truly local service, reducing CO2 emissions within the City by being a single service provider and helping you to improve your own 'green credentials'.
Based in Oxford, we employ local people and own and operate a varied fleet of purpose built collection vehicles ensuring continuity of service for our customers. We listen to the needs of our customers, providing tailor-made waste solutions including a pay-by-weight service.
Oxford Direct Services is a member of the Oxfordshire Waste Partnership (OWP) and works within Section 46 of The Environmental Protection Act 1990 and Controlled Waste Regulations 1992 for the peace of mind of our clients. As your chosen licensed commercial waste carrier we will inform you of any changes in legislation, ensuring your legal compliance.
Our specialist team can design and deliver a tailored service that suits your organisation perfectly.
We understand how difficult it may seem to introduce, manage or even change the way you recycle and have your waste collected. That's why our dedicated team of experienced staff are here to discuss all of the options available to you in a straightforward and hassle free way. We currently operate a full waste and recycling service six days a week (including evenings) and use only local recycling and waste disposal locations.
In 2011 new Waste Regulations came into effect and Oxford City Council Direct Services would like to help customers incorporate and adhere to these regulations.
It's Cheaper To Be Green - The more you recycle the less you send to landfill which helps the environment and also your company's waste disposal budget. We offer highly competitive prices on all our services, and the more you recycle the cheaper it becomes as it diverts waste away from landfill.

This service enables your business to capture a wide range of recyclables and reduce the amount you send to landfill, making this service our most cost-effective and convenient.
We offer a range of collection options to suit your business. If space is an issue we also offer recycling and waste sacks and/or recycling labels for your convenience. Please contact us to discuss your exact requirements.
If the full mixed recycling service isn't right for your business, our single material collection service could be perfect for you.
We offer VAT free collections of single material types; for example if your business creates a large amount of paper, glass, cardboard or tins, we can collect these in their own in separate containers.
A new low cost food waste recycling collection service is now available (Monday to Saturday).
Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
We also offer a general waste collection service for commercial premises at a very competitive price.
An alternative to a wheelie bin is trade sacks. These are invoiced after delivery or collection.
We offer a bulky waste service to businesses for disposal of large items such as furniture and white goods (unfortunately we cannot accept fridges and freezers).
Please contact us for further information about this service and to get a quote.
The bin weighing service provides you with an opportunity to have detailed and accurate analysis of the recycling and waste that you are disposing of, at no additional cost.
Specific weight information regarding your disposal can help you to accurately analyse your own green credentials and promote your own waste reduction and recycling achievements. We will provide you with the actual weight details of the recycling and waste that you have disposed of.
Under Section 34 of the the Environmental Protection Act 1990, all businesses have a duty of care for the disposal of all their recyclable materials and commercial waste.
Business rates do not cover businesses for any recycling or waste collections. Therefore you are responsible for the management of all the waste that your business produces.

A controlled waste transfer note (CWTN) is a document which must accompany any transfer of waste between different holders. The CWTN must be kept by the transferor and transferee for a minimum of two years. Oxford City Council provides you with a CWTN which covers you for multiple collections over a given period of time.
"I have found the whole service to be top class! Communication with their department has been excellent. Solutions to our difficulties were found and acted upon swiftly.
"We have a fully commingled recycling facility and Oxford Direct Services has been flexible to fit in extra lifts whenever necessary. (Sometimes even on a Saturday!) Not only have we reduced the amount of our rubbish going to landfill by over 50%, we are also making considerable financial savings! Thanks again!"
Adrian Clark, Balliol College
"We have been using Oxford Direct Services for many years and have been very impressed with the efforts they have been making to provide a more sustainable waste management solution for our business. We, as a catering business, have been able to work with Oxford Direct Services to firstly assess the amount of waste which could be recycled, and then make use of their extremely competitively priced services including food waste collection, which has been hugely beneficial to us.
"The service we receive is really second to none. I’d happily recommend the Oxford Direct Services Waste Collection services without hesitation."
Andrew Lund-Yates, The Oxford Centre
