What happens to your general waste?
Your general waste is sent to Ardely Energy Recycling Facility (ERF) in north Oxfordshire, where it is burnt to produce electricity. The facility treats around 300,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste each year and diverts at least 95% of Oxfordshire’s general waste away from landfill, generating enough electricity to power around 38,000 homes.
