Undergoing an annual MOT is a legal obligation for all classes of vehicles, including cars and motorbikes.
At Oxford Direct Services, we offer competitively priced MOTs for a number of vehicles, helping residents to fulfil their obligations and remain compliant whilst being safe on the roads. We can carry out MOTs for cars, motorbikes, vans, and motorhomes, among other vehicles, all performed in our conveniently located MOT testing station at our Cowley Marsh Depot .

How do I appeal a failed MOT?

If you wish to appeal against refusal to issue a test certificate for your vehicle:

  • Ask for a form (VT17) - obtainable from the testing station or the VOSA website
  • Send the form, with a further full test fee, to reach the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency office shown below within 14 working days of the refusal notice issue date
  • If your appeal is successful, the fee or, if appropriate, part of it will be returned to you
  • Do not have your vehicle repaired before your appeal is considered. This is because any change to your vehicle may affect the outcome of the appeal

Retests (Re- Examination)

We now carry out repairs at our test station.
If the vehicle is retested before the end of the next working day on one or more of the following items, there will be no additional fee:

If the vehicle is removed from the testing station for repair and returned for retest within 10 working days following the day of the initial failure, then only a partial retest is needed and a partial retest fee may be charged.
Only one partial re-examination is permissible per full examination. In any other case a full re-examination and full fee will be required.
